Welcome to the Perthshire Gundog Rescue SCIO website
NEW COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES NOW IN PLACE AT HQ- PLEASE CALL US TO DISCUSS
Perthshire Gundog Rescue SCIO has been set up to help rescue Gundogs and Gundog Breeds.
The rescue is commited to the welfare of all dogs that come into our care and endeavour to make a positive contribution to their lives, no matter what their circumstances. We aim to educate people about Gundog Breeds prior to taking them on and are often called to discuss people's suitablilty in owning one of these intelligent working bred dogs.
PGR works with and rehomes rescue dogs according to their individual needs. This could be a pet working bred dog going on to become and active working Gundog or a dog who has possible failed as a Gundog for whatever reason will be matched up and rehomed into a suitable active pet home.We also help retired Gundogs of all ages
(please don't over look the oldies as they have so much to give).
All our rescue dogs come and live with me to be fully assessed, this allows me to get to know the dog well.
Each and every dog and it's situation is an individual one and is treated as such.
We pride ourselves in being a support system to pet owners with Gundog breeds who may need our help with concerns such as training/behaviour and nutrition. We are also here to support anyone who is going through the loss of a much loved family pet. We work very closely with qualified & experienced trainers/behaviourists/nutritionists and vets to give everyone the support they need to fulfill their dogs lives. We have worked with many people who have been at their witts end not coping with their dogs who have felt the need to rehome them, working with them most have happily been able to keep them.
PGR gets many people involved in Gundog Training which helps greatly in the mental stimulation of Gundog breeds regardless of whether they are to be worked in the shooting field or not. It gives people a better understanding about the type of stimulation these dogs need and in my experience makes for a happier life for both owners and dogs.
We cant make any of this work possible without the much needed fundraising and donations. So if you have a fundraising idea then please do get in touch either by E-Mail or call 07858 445 493.
You can also make a much needed and appreciated donation to the rescue via the donate button at the bottom of this page.
PLEASE NOTE: That only people who have gone through a process of checks will have a dog placed with them.
PGR does not have a rescue centre/kennels the public can visit & the rescue is soley run by volunteers.
PGR as of 14/02/17 is now a registered Scottish charity SCO47173 run by people giving up their own time with love and devotion.
Kind Regards
Perthshire Gundog Rescue SCIO.
